A new post by the official Elder Scrolls account on X (formerly Twitter) indicates Bethesda is finally ready to say something about the Oblivion remaster that keeps leaking all over the place.

The post is a simple image of what appears to be the knight from the original Oblivion cover, overlaid with the Roman numeral IV — Oblivion is The Elder Scrolls 4, just to be clear — as well as tomorrows date, April 22, and global start times for YouTube and Twitch streams. Well apparently want to tune in at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT/4 p.m. BST to learn more.

Weve known Bethesda intended to do something new with Oblivion since at least 2023, when mention of a remaster was included in documents leaked during Microsofts legal battle with the United States Federal Trade Commission as the tech giant attempted to acquire Activision. Industry insiders continued to add fuel to the fire earlier this year until actual screenshots of the project were discovered in the back end of supposed remaster studio Virtuos website in April. Rumors of the game appearing in Steam libraries popped this morning.

The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion first launched in 2006. While beloved by fans of the series, its always been something of a black sheep, wedged between the old-school charm of 2002s Morrowind and the mainstream success of 2011s Skyrim. An untitled sixth entry in the Elder Scrolls series is currently in development.
